The Unrated Horse is highlighted in grey with the symbol *U* is a horse that can still run well enough in a race to finish second, third or fourth, but the bottom line is that the Rogue Ratings™ computer program doesn’t project(calculate) that these Unrated Horses as being capable enough(not game enough) to give a top effort that is required to run a winning race.

Know that these *U* Unrated Horses can appear in any type of race and in some races these types of horse may even make up the majority of horses in a race depending on the circumstances. Realize, that in a small amount of races you may very well see a complete field of only unrated horses, which should suggest to you that this particular race is most likely a wide open race and or a chaotic type of race where anything can, and usually does happen!

The contrarian/ rogue logic here with the *U* Unrated Horses is that it points out very clearly to the new fan or novice handicapper which horses you should avoid wagering on be it to Win or keying on top of your exotic bets.

Remember, it is not always about looking for the winners, but a lot of the time you can get to the winners by “Eliminating the losers” and this is precisely another feature of what the Rogue Ratings™ computer program does for the new fan or novice handicapper, and doing it all “Right out of the Gate!”

This is going to be a weekly article for new fans, novice horseplayers and even seasoned gambler’s looking to master the unique Rogue Ratings™ computer program. This is a “how to guide” for horse racing handicapper’s looking to advancing their knowledge from the basic’s to an advance level understanding these sophisticated calculations that are presented in a simple user friendly way.

I present this race at Belterra Park on 9/13/15 to point out the three basic concepts that the rogue ratings™ will help/ teach the new fan or novice horseplayer, which is to simply understand quickly the potential horses to play (highlighted with a symbol) per race, potential race shape(listed in order of early speed projections) of each horse and the velocity number for each horse that is a measurement of it’s potential. This all helps to put the new bettor on par with the sophisticated handicapper “Right out of the Gate!”

POTENTIAL PLAYS ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN COLORS

The Speed Horse in this race is clearly highlighted in the color red with the symbol *S* which is the number #8-Waylon’s Ghost. The Key Horse in this race is clearly highlighted in the color blue with the symbol *K* that is the number #1-J.M’S Parade. Mostly all races will have a Speed Horse and a Key Horse listed with the small exception of a certain amount of races.

RACE PROGRAM IS LISTED IN ORDER OF EARLY SPEED PROJECTIONS

The race shape projection for this race looks to have at least four horses vying for the early lead as this is easily shown to you by the Early Speed column that lists the number rating for each horse’s early speed rating. Also, this is very easy to understand as the horses are listed in order from top to bottom of the rogue ratings™ program page by early speed order…it’s just that simple!

So, analyzing this race would tell you that since you have several horses(3 or more) looking to battle in the early stage of the race that it sets up well for the off the pace horse which is the Key Horse the #1.

In this race the result was the #1 horse(Key horse) ran second and the #8 horse(Speed horse) ended up running out of the money(meaning the top three spots). I hope you can see how the Rogue Ratings™ computer program quickly, simply and effectively allow the new fan or novice handicapper to view a race in a sophisticated way that puts them par with sophisticated bettor!

VELOCITY NUMBER = HORSES POTENTIAL EFFORT

The velocity number is the summary of each horses form cycle/ velocity number, which is the measurement of the potential forth coming effort by each horse. The lower the velocity number the better for the velocity rating. To give the new fan or novice horseplayer some perspective of the rogue ratings™ overall number scale that a zero(0) velocity rating would be considered a perfect type of rating as the horse equally distributed it’s energy in the most efficient way throughout the race.  Please note, that the rogue ratings™ can sometimes list a horse as a minus(-) number which is also shows a horse as being highly efficiently energy wise in a race.

The Rogue Ratings™ easily delivers for the new fan or novice horseplayer:

• Easily outline’s the potential race shape for each race overall and for each horse specifically
• Highlight’s each potential play in the race by color’s and symbol’s
• Measures each horse’s form cycle/ velocity number for it’s class level and potential effort.

As a member of the NHC Players’ Committee, the Rogue Handicapper® wrote this original proposal in 2011 titled, “Tournament Program” for the Committee and here now is the amended version dated February 6, 2014.

The Purpose of this proposal is to provide the National Thoroughbred Racing Association with consulting services to develop new procedures for contest host sites and personnel. This will create for the NTRA, a model tournament structure/ standard based upon the finals. All tracks and participants will know what is expected. This will be the new NHC Tournament model.
